The Death Clock 002

Bringing steam punk too new lows. The Death Clock is, as far as I know, the only steampunk bass that isnt misused for gypsy goth rock *cough* Abney Park *cough*
This project was a big experiment for me. From how I approached the construction of the body, to how well one can get the controls to fit into a can of beeferoni.
Also, for the bass enthusiast out there, I experimented just a little with tone as well by making it a tenor bass. The body was pretty light to begin with, so I slapped on the 4 high string froma set of 6 string bass string I had lying around.
This bass actually sounds pretty good as well. I carried it with me to Steampunk World's Fair and played it through a small line6 guitar amp throughout the weekend.... wow, I just heard every elder bass player wince just then... It did not sound too bad through the little guitar amp, but I was asked at one point to help resolve a minor sound issue during the con, and I got the opportunity to hear this baby through a decent set of PAs. Not bad really. Over all I am very pleased with how this came out, and even more surprising was everyone at SPWF liked it as well.
